BayWest A missionary church in the heart of Hobart To download the visionary document for the future, click here BayWest is a contemporary church family with several differing congregations catering for the needs of a diverse range of people. At BayWest, we have a family friendly service Sunday@10, two traditional services 8am Holy Communion (the other is midweek), a cafe service Soul Café, and being close to the University of Tasmania's main Campus, we have a service that targets youth and young adults 6pm. At BayWest we also have a youth ministry called Cross-Eyed for people in grades 3-12. For those of you familiar with 'church speak' BayWest is what you might broadly call an 'evangelical' church. That is to say we believe that God is a speaking God, and that some of his words have been recorded in the Bible. God's Word is foundational for us in understanding who God is, and what it means to have a friendship with him. At BayWest, we also aim to be a contemporary and relevant church, that understands how God's words impact our lives today. We believe God has called us to do this together, to be a community of God's people living as a light that foreshadows his coming Kingdom. BayWest is an Anglican Church located in the Hobart suburb of Sandy Bay, on the corner of Lord and Grosvenor Streets, formed in 1998 by the combination of St Peter's, Sandy Bay and St John the Baptist, West Hobart. BayWest church is also available for weddings and our hall is available for hire. |
