International StudentsThis ministry is run at BayWest to reach out to those who are visiting Tasmania and are looking for a family and a home away from home. It is our hope that international students find our ministry a welcoming and safe place where you will make many Australian friends. If you are an international student and would like to meet Australians, learn more about Australian culture, go sight seeing around Tasmania, practice English, find out about Jesus or join a church, please come and join us! Are you an international student? Would you like to: - Practice English? - Find out who Jesus is? - Make Australian friends? - Eat good, home-cooked food? Every Wednesday we share a meal and then read the Bible to find out who Jesus is. See Tasmania, make Australian friends. Improve your English through conversations with Australians. You don’t need any previous knowledge about Christianity. This is a chance for you to learn about it for yourself. We meet in the BayWest hall at 6:30 pm. SO WHY DO WE RUN THESE ACTIVITIES? The people who organised today’s trip are some university students and workers from Bay West church. We want to give international students the chance to discover beautiful Tasmania and to make some new friends. Some of us have also traveled overseas and know what it is like to be in a strange country. We want you to feel at home here. We also want you to have the chance to discover who Jesus is and why he is important to us. If you would like to find out what Christians believe then there is a group especially for you. We meet for dinner every Wednesday then have a look at what the Bible says about life and how to have a relationship with God. We also have a group at the same time for people who are Christian.
