UniversityDue to its close proximity to the University of Tasmania (UTas), BayWest church is popular amongst University students who wish to interact with other Christians, or simply find out what Christianity means to them. Other helpful websites include: FOCUS Fellowship of Christian University Students Mid Year Conference (MYC) A report by Chris Bowditch. This year's MYC was held at Camp Clayton near Ulverstone and the topic was the Holy Spirit. This camp was a fantastic time, not only of learning some good solid theology about the the person of the Holy Spirit, but also an amazing time to discover and experience the Holy Spirit at work in the Christian community. Apart from the time spent studying the Bible, there was also a time each day set aside for prophecy; allowing the Holy Spirit to work and speak God's word into our lives. In my group, many of us had verses from the Bible that we shared and one member of the group had a vision for each member of the group. His vision for me reflected my life stage and where I should be heading very clearly. It was a very powerful time. The Spirit was at work on MYC 2006, bringing together God's people, in our understanding o him, but more importantly, bringing together a bunch of people from many different churches and mindsets, into one unified Kingdom community. A very very powerful thing! For pictures see: http://www.focusutas.org/?page=myc
