Weddings
BayWest Anglican Church can be a
great place to hold your wedding ceremony. This brief page outlines exactly what
it is that we offer you, and our expectations of you should you decide to hold
your wedding at our church.
The cost of the
wedding will be $450 all inclusive (inc. GST if applicable). This includes a
celebrant, organist (if required), garden flowers (if required), church hire,
and marriage preparation classes.
We can also organise
a trumpet player for duets for an additional $80.
We would like to
support you in this step into marriage. When two different people make a
commitment to join together in marriage there is much to be excited about, but
also many issues that will need to be addressed. Therefore I would like to meet
with you on four occasions in order to guide you through some of the
relationship implications. We will be using a questionnaire called “Prepare”,
which will highlight some strengths and potential growth areas in your
relationship. In case you fear otherwise, “Prepare” is not a program that
targets Christians or attempts to ‘convert’ you. It is simply a tool that will
help you understand yourself, your partner, and the differences between you. If
you live interstate or overseas, please contact me and we can discuss the
implications as regards your preparation.
Other things
pertaining to the service you might need to consider is the order of service
booklet, if you would like an item during the signing, if you would like include
friends in other elements of the service (readings, prayers) and whether or not
you would like the celebrant to wear robes and a clerical collar or a suit and
tie. The service used will largely follow the traditional vows. If you wish to
say something more personal, we can discuss this at our first meeting.
As well as the four
classes of marriage preparation, we will need to have a prior 1 hour long
meeting to discuss the service outline, and fill out the legal paperwork
required. If you could please bring documents such as birth certificates,
passports, and divorce papers (where relevant). A dress rehearsal before hand is
optional.
